Описание: Guitar Concerto in e minor for Guitar solo and Mandolin Orchestra by Johannes Christiaan Mouter (1924 - 1982) performed by guitar soloist Tom Edskes and the Dutch Mandolin Chamber Orchestra Het CONSORT conducted by Alex Timmerman.

This Guitar Concerto was composed in 1956 and belongs to one of Chris Mouter's most loved compositions. Mouter himself played it several times as the soloist with orchestra and recorded it in 1973 with the Amsterdam Mandolin Orchestra AMTG/Da Capo under the direction of conducter Carlo Malizia. In 1977 during a jubileum concert of the AMTG the Andante, the 2nd movement of the Concerto, was performed again with Chris Mouter as their guitar soloist. Interesting and informative is the fact that this Concerto was the first composition for Orchestra ánd Guitar in the Netherlands, followed in 1958 by Theo H. Smit Sibinga's 'Concerto in D major for Guitar and Orchestra' and the 'Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra' from 1960 by Wolfgang Wijdeveld.

This year, Saturday November 2nd, the Dutch Mandolin Chamber Orchestra Het CONSORT conducted by Alex Timmerman programmed the 'LOUTER MOUTER' concert, a concert to honor the Dutch composer and guitarist Chris Mouter with only his music on the programme. One of the works being the 'Concerto in e minor for Guitar and Mandolin Orchestra'. It was performed by the Dutch guitarist Tom Edskes and the Mandolin Chamber Orchestra HET CONSORT conducted by Alex Timmerman in the Thamerkerk in Uithoorn (Netherlands). The work was received by an enthousiast audience, including the Mouter family, for which this memorable concert was organised.
