Drone footage shows destruction at Azovstal steel plant in Ukrainian city of Mariupol

Aerial footage has revealed the extent of the damage to the Azovstal Steel Plant as the facility in Ukraine was besieged by Russian invasion forces. The steelworks in the eastern city of Mariupol had been the scene of fierce fighting for weeks before Russian troops overwhelmed Ukrainian defenders inside on May 20, 2022. Images from across the complex that sprawls over 11 sq km (4.2 square miles) show improvised washing lines, memorials for fallen soldiers and “beds” made out of wooden pallets.
