From an Abandoned 1957 Chevy 150 into a killer GASSER in a week!

This nasty ratty next to the barn find 1957 Chevy 150 two door sedan is something that dream are made of! A fairly local find at a scary good price! I believe it's been about a year since we drug this cool hotrod home! She was left to rot into the ground next to an old barn along with a cool 1956 Chevy Bel Air four door hardtop! We saved them both, the 56 Chevy has a new home in Tennessee with a fella that's putting her back on the road in almost as found condition. He is restoring all the mechanicals and interior but keeping the original paint and patina! As for this killer 57 150 she's not going anywhere! I've been slowly collecting parts for the dream I have in my head to build this crusty old car into something far out! A BIG BLOCK 4 SPEED 1957 left over parts ratty street GASSER! I managed to score a good deal on a GM ZZ427 Gen VI big block Chevy short block with forged crank, rods, pistons, and a Lunati hydraulic roller camshaft. I've got a few Muncie four speeds to pick from and a cool selection of wheels that fit the style of the car. Obviously if you watched the whole video, you know that the car is just currently a roller and unfortunately not on top of the to do list. My Dads 1951 Studebaker Champion Starlight Coupe will be next on the chopping block after the 1957 Chevy pickup that we are currently in the middle of building. But that didn't stop me from dressing this awesome old car up in the used patina sheet metal and tilt front end that I acquired! I bought that cool bronze colored trunk lid in North Carolina where we bought the PINK 1960 Cadillac that we plan to Cummins swap! Those cool green doors came from the swap meet in Moultrie, Georgia last year along with that hard to find 57 150 quarter panel trim! Just bolting the doors and trunk lid on made a huge difference in the appearance of the car. But when that old school flame paint job, one piece fiberglass tilt front end went on... Whooooo that sealed the deal! INSTANT GASSER! I loved the car at this point... Well lets be honest I loved this crusty old 150 two post the moment I laid eyes on it rotting into the ground, abandoned, poor old day two hotrod with nothing left to give! From the old Lakewood slapper bars to the rusting steel slots it was cool. But now its KILLER! But that's not the end of the story... pull up your seats and hang on.... I got the grinder out and made this a proper gasser! Rolled those 265/50R15s wrapped around some Mickey Thompson styled Rocket wheels 15x10s up to the quarter panel and started cutting! I know it seems absurd, why would you cut up a perfectly rusty 1/4 panel in the name of cool.... But it had to be done! The finished product is a beautiful masterpiece of poor farm boy street gasser left over from days gone. I love it! One day we will mount that 427ci Big Block chevy in this machine and hang that 1953 Chevy truck axle under the front and all will be right with the world! Rusty crusty pavement pounding forgotten hotrod that lives again!
