Phillip Sear plays a short 1932 collection of piano pieces by the English pianist, organist, and composer Edgar Moy (1893–1973).

Moy was born in Hammersmith, and studied at the Royal Academy of Music. He wrote a lot of educational music, including two musical plays for young children, entitled 'The Dolls' and 'Jennie's Visit to Fairyland'. He also wrote a beginner's piano tutor called 'Well Begun', which was my own very first piano instruction book (my teacher might well have been a contemporary of Moy).

In the 1930s, Moy broadcasted as a piano duettist with Alec Rowley, and the Moy's harmonies are often similar to those used by Rowley in his later music. If you look here - t.ly/JdUj - you can see a BBC programme for a 1939 broadcast by Moy and Rowley, and get an idea of their varied repertoire.

The title suggests an idyllic English country stream. A 'reach' on a stream is a segment or section of the watercourse, typically a straight, level, uninterrupted stretch where similar hydrologic conditions—like depth, slope, and flow—prevail.
