My chocolate gouramis! 🍫🍫🍫

The tank dimensions are 40x30x35cm. Setup is just sand on the bottom and some wood, along with tannins supplied by the cattapa leaves on the bottom. There is a small HOB filter, set to the lowest flow for some circulation.

It looked a little barren, so I added some java ferns as well as some crypt. wendtii, generally hardy plants which could survive with little light. There are also some small water lettuce, providing cover for the gouramis, blocking light, providing cover with its long roots, and most importantly being a good nitrate sponge!

It took me awhile to find these fish, so was really stoked when I found them for sale, and quickly prepared the tank (all old wood, sand, filter so already cycled) so i'd be ready whenever I could buy the fish.

These little buggers are very personable, and really interesting to watch. Their behaviour is really something else, so i'd reccomend you try keeping at some point(if you haven't already).
