In more than 20 years, our non-profit association has grown into a very popular tourist attraction in Central Germany. This is the joint work of many hard-working club members, supporters and sponsors.

But these living achievements are now threatened in their existence.

In 2019 alone, our association had to accept massive financial damage due to storm damage, burglary and vandalism, as well as route closure due to mining damage. Losses that we can hardly cope with on our own and from volunteering. We are all the more infinitely grateful for some of the help offers of recent times.

The association Kohlebahnen e.V. contributes to the reconstruction and preservation of mining and railway history with its mostly voluntary work. We would also like to preserve this Central German industrial culture for future generations.
