In biblical times, the people would gather and bring the best of their first fruits to the temple as a sign of gratitude to God.

This festival also commemorates the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Yeshua's disciples in Jerusalem, leading to the birth of the first church made up of Jewish believers.

On this Shavuot, may we draw closer to the Lord, offering Him the first fruits of our lives and being filled with His Holy Spirit to bear fruits for His kingdom.
