Getting qualified welders is becoming increasingly difficult. For the small metalworking company Vattholma Mekano, the solution became a new mechanical colleague - who can use existing welding equipment.
The new colleague, a collaborative UR10e robot equipped with the plug-and-play welding package Smoothtool, which is very easy to use and program, makes high-quality welds over and over again.
The fact that the robot is easy to move to the welding object, instead of moving the object to the robot, is a great advantage for Vattholma Mekano, which often MIG-welds heavy buckets for excavators. With the robot, you get a better working environment at the same time as it frees up valuable time for human employees - up to 30 percent, the owner estimates. Now the company can increase its production volume.
