The laser is then activated and a pulse of laser energy is sent into the skin. Most patients report that the sensation is similar to being snapped with a rubberband. Depending on the size of the tattoo will determine how many laser pulses are needed. Most tattoos will require multiple treatments to remove all of the ink. Following each treatment you will see the tattoo become progressively lighter. A topical antibiotic cream is applied to the treated area immediately following treatment. The area will be bandaged to protect it from the sun and the possibility of infection.

Laser tattoo removal is much safer than other traditional methods of removal such as salabrasion, dermabrasion or excision.
