At long last, I’ve completed the Jinriki trio, more or less!
I’d only just come across this song in the past month or so, and I really enjoyed it, then once I found out the themes of the song, I mean… the plans were set, I couldn’t NOT have him sing this!

(What of the key change?: I still found it a little too high for him after I’d lowered him an octave, so I brought the song down another 5 semitones. His low notes are definitely a little too low for him to realistically hit now, but I prefer that over his high notes being too high. Plus, I like the way this key sounds!)

This song had me so excited that I also thought of a more elaborate video to go along with it. He’s meant to be looking out the kitchen window, I hope that was made clear! Now, I feel a little bad that the other two’s videos aren’t as fancy. But I learn new things with every upload and I have plenty of ideas for the future up my sleeve!

I didn’t have the same problem as I did with Yellow Guy, and made sure to record the consonants very quietly this time. As far as the creating process goes I mainly just had trouble with his “a” sounds - I’ve found “a” to usually be the easiest vowel to search for, but oddly enough, Red Guy doesn’t seem to say it very often and when he does it’s usually said too quickly for me to use. So I wound up using 2 of my best options, and hopefully it suffices!
(Another thing I’ve noticed from him is that he sighs and breathes deeply pretty often, and I got one to function as a sample. Not sure how often I’m going to use it, but I’m glad I have it! Maybe I should record some more breaths for these guys...)

My greatest qualm though has been how the vocals get a little choppy and uneven/off at particular parts of the song. I did as much as I could to remedy this but it gets to a point that you just have to accept that, likely, it’s more the inevitability of using a CV voicebank of this caliber than it is a janky .oto job, or anything that you did specifically… I hope! 😟 After a while of listening I don’t think it’s quite as offensive as I’d originally thought, but it’s been irking me for days (I care a great deal for this fellow, and want him to sound his best!) so I figured it was worth mentioning.
