🌑 Pitch black center, with ruby 🍷 and violet 💜 overtones and thick staining tears. A range of black plums 🍑, mountain herbs 🌿, blackcurrants, wild blackberries, and bay leaf 🍃 make the initial impression. The raw chocolate 🍫, thyme, sarsaparilla, tobacco 🚬, and steeped black tea ☕ deserve a nod too. This wine is a powerhouse—there’s a reason Petit Verdot, with its high concentration of polyphenols that take a long time to ripen, is perfectly situated for this high-elevation, windswept site 🌬️. Powerful and chewy yet refined, this Petit Verdot can sit down for a decade or be enjoyed with an hour or more in a decanter ⏳. Drink 2024–2040.
