A body was pulled Tuesday afternoon from Buffalo Bayou near Commerce and Fannin in downtown Houston. Houston Police and first responders secured part of Allen’s Landing Park while assisting with recovery. Authorities say the body appeared to be a clothed Black male, and no visible signs of trauma were seen during a visual inspection. A full examination will determine the cause of death. The public is said to not be at risk.
This is the first body recovered from a Houston bayou in 2026. Some residents are calling for cameras along bayou trails to improve safety.
