In the video : Workers pour concrete into steel molds (60cm tall) forming an arched skeleton slope protection on a hillside.
Goal: Create hollow concrete ribs for stability, planting grass inside later to prevent soil erosion.
Key action: A worker holds a wooden board horizontally across the top mold entrance as fresh concrete flows in from the mixer truck above.
Why block? To pause the concrete flow, letting it pool briefly into a thick mass behind the board.
Why release? When lifted, this pooled concrete slides down as one cohesive flow – reducing rock/sand separation (segregation) and avoiding mold damage from high-speed pours.
Smart result: Simple board use ensures strong, even concrete ribs down the slope !
