Been doing very well hunting this season so I tried to give the quail more of a chance by handicapping myself using a difficult weapon. A bolt action, full choke, .410 shotgun for a challenge. Turns out I'm a savage even with a small bore and the birds didn't fair very well.

My intention had been to try and only shoot pointed birds over Mina but that plan dissolved for the first half of the day. I knew hitting birds would be difficult with the small bore shotgun so I wasn't able to resist dropping some non pointed birds that presented good shot opportunities.
