A tragic accident in Janakpuri, West Delhi, resulted in the death of 25-year-old Kamal Dhyani after his motorcycle fell into a 15-foot-deep pit dug for a Delhi Jal Board (DJB) pipeline rehabilitation project. While the DJB stated that the site was properly barricaded, police are investigating the exact sequence of events. Kamal’s family has alleged delayed police response and raised doubts about the circumstances of his death. In response, the Delhi government and DJB have formed a committee to probe the incident, and three DJB officers have been suspended. Delhi Urban Development and PWD Minister Parvesh Verma assured that strict action will be taken if any negligence is found.
