What is VocaBuilder – Solo? Can we call it as VB – Solo from here on?

VocaBuilder – Solo is first such Gamification-of-Education application blending fun & learning to develop English Vocabulary. It is a game of building English Words. It is played between a School going Child and the Computer! The App – ‘Competes’ as well as ‘Guides’ - Plays a very unique role of being a competitor and at the same time as a Coach!

The Child is required to form meaningful English Words using the randomly supplied alphabet chips by VB – Solo. While the Child can generate words that she already knows, the ‘learning-part’ of this app is very useful & educative!

The ‘Idea’ button generates a lot of words and their meaning that the child does not know. She learns a lot while still continuing to 'play’! Priority should be given to learn as much new words as possible and understand its meaning.

There are 2 versions of this App 1. Playable in Computer / Laptop / Desktop 2. Playable on Mobile Phone. To play this app on our Mobile Phone, visit Google play-store and search for VocaBuilder – Solo. Pay and download. The various buttons and their usage are explained in the video clearly.

This app is pre-loaded with over 15000 words. As much as possible we have carefully removed offensive and avoidable words not suitable for School Children. Also, we have given simple contextual meaning for the words so that Children are encouraged to learn more.

If the Child gets 75 to 100 points in over 1.5 hrs of play, it is good enough. If the scores are between 100 to 150 points, it is very good performance. If the Child is gets 150+ score consistently, Parents should assist their Ward to move over to the next level, VocaBuilder – Duo, to play the game with friends / siblings / parents on the same device.

Why is Vocabulary so important?

Let us understand the basics. As a Parent of an English medium going Child, should we not expect the right learning outcomes at various stages of the Child’s schooling? We all dream of our Child to do well professionally when they enter the job market. Putting the Child into an English medium school is NOT the end of it. It is just the starting point!

Further, the Child should be comfortable reading content outside the textbooks to expand the Knowledge. The Child should explore on its own interest, naturally. This is the real purpose of a good schooling. Fourth stage is ‘Writing’! The ability to write content precisely and meaningfully. The Ability to think independently comes ONLY after LSRW. Building Confidence & Self Esteem leads to presenting oneself with Clarity. This opens the gates of Higher Learning that leads to the Professional Excellence.
