Since the partial reopening of the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt on February 2, a small number of Palestinians who fled the Israel-Hamas war have been allowed to return to the enclave.
In addition to Israeli military inspections, they faced checkpoints run by armed Palestinian groups backed by Israel.
Israel closed the Rafah crossing on February 28 after launching a joint attack on Iran with the US. No date for its reopening has been announced.
