Well it's nearly Christmas, and that means Virgin Trains once again unleashes a new livery on its Class 390 Pendolino fleet. Designed by children, this year's livery was designed by Amber Maxfield and is based around Penguins, hence the name, the 'Penguilino'.
Its a really nice touch from Virgin to do this, and always creates smiles on the platforms when it rolls in.
Another set, similar to this, called the Claus 91 can be found on the East Coast Mainline, operated by Virgin Trains' sister company, Virgin Trains East Coast. Certainly one to watch out for!
Anyways, back to the action! I was told a few hours in advance that the Penguilino would be heading to Merseyside, and headed down to Lime Street to capture the Pendolino. I managed to capture both the arrival and departure of the train. In addition, I also managed to capture a wide-range of photos, so I would say it was a productive hour or so!
