Comparing some new ProCase electronic earmuffs to some of my older pairs (Radians, etc.) and then taking them for a day of shooting.
These folks sent me a pair to test: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0D...
With a referral discount code good for 10% off through the end of October 2025 if you buy them on Amazon: SWLK9G4N

Are they the best out there? Probably not, but that depends on your priorities, and for a good price, they get the job done. I spent a great day shooting without discomfort due to either fit or sound, could hear the range officer, other shooters, and when cars pulled up, etc. It was nice for me to see how hearing protection continues to evolve, since I got my first pair decades ago - a pair I still have, and can compare to here!
Whether it's hearing protection, eye protection, knee pads, a gator back, adjusting the props you've got, whatever, there's no shame in asking for the tools you need to do the job safely and hopefully without discomfort, so you can do your best work and push your limits without injury. Tinnitus is not your friend! I also have some basically fake hearing protection (the ones attached to to the helmet) for those times when the character is anticipating loud noises, but we aren't expecting any loud noise on set, and want to be able to hear things like "Action!" and "Cut!".
While the product to review was free, I was not paid to produce this video, or told what to say. Let me know how ya'll feel about this, since it's the first time I've done it - discount code seems like a nice thing to be able to offer viewers, but if I wan't making videos sometimes anyway, it wouldn't be worth the hour-plus of my time spent on it for anything worth less than $50, usually.
