Описание: Post Lockdown: Travel has been the only reprieve of sorts and the first of my staycations had to be in a place I could roam & breathe free ... where else, but the Jungle 🙂 and what better than the rainforest of Lakkidi in Wayanad ? The most important thing post lockdown was to look for safe places to stay and also the safest places to eat. We did stopover at friends’ places in Thrissur & Tirur to ensure we had enough food for that journey of 7 hours and more from Kochi. From that point onwards, we were just about taken care of like babies by the team at @wayanadwild_cghearth . The reception connected to us much earlier en route to make sure we reach the checkpost in time to take the 3.5km Jeep ride off road through the jungle to get to the property. You will stay inside the jungle along with animals, so you might wanna get to know more from the resident naturalist. With Chef Velu’s food three times a day, you wouldn’t wanna return back home any early. The legend is reputed for his outstanding service at @cghearth for 35 years and more. A specialist in Malabar cuisine, Chef ensures each meal is planned based on the activities of the in house guests with as much healthy local produce as possible with some Malabar specials that exceed the standards set by CGH themselves. All rooms have different views and are powered by generators with electricity throughout the day regardless of the heavy rainfall and power issues in the region. There is a power conservation routine which you will get used to sans gadgets in the middle of the jungle. Navigating around the property will keep you busy following all the sounds of nature in your path. After a short trek, if need be, there’s always the buggy to help commute. Now is the time to getaway and enjoy the rains at 📍Wayanad.
