For us, the choice was clear: Aiguille du Midi — the gateway to the sky.

☀️ From +30°C to –30°C — A Journey Between Worlds

We arrived around 10 a.m., parked our car in a free parking area, and began a 15-minute scenic walk toward Chamonix’s city centre. The path felt like a hidden Alpine secret — lined with crystal-clear canals, lush forest, and a mirror-calm lake reflecting the snowy giants above.

Once in the heart of Chamonix, the weather looked promising — half-sunny skies with playful clouds dancing around the peaks — perfect for a mountain adventure.
Without hesitation, we bought our round-trip cable-car tickets (€81 per adult) and began the breathtaking ascent to Aiguille du Midi (3,842 m) — one of the highest lift-accessible points in Europe.

🚠 The Ride to the Sky

The journey upward was nothing short of magical. As the valley dropped away, Mont Blanc and its jagged white companions rose before us in all their glory.
At the summit, the world opened up — a 360° panorama spanning France, Switzerland, and Italy — a view so vast and unreal it literally took our breath away.

🌌 The Thrill Highlight

“Step into the Void” — a glass box suspended over a sheer drop.
Standing inside it felt like floating above the world, suspended between earth and sky.

Dress warmly and start early. The peaks often vanish into clouds later in the day, so morning hours offer the best chance for clear blue skies and dazzling views. Even in summer, the summit can feel like a deep-freeze — windy, icy, and unforgettable.

After our descent, we still had time to wander the charming streets, enjoy a hearty alpine lunch, and later dine with Mont Blanc glowing under the stars. The town sparkled at night — a perfect blend of mountain calm and lively energy.

The next morning, after a delicious breakfast with a mountain view, we began our drive back — crossing into Martigny, Switzerland, and then onward to the High Black Forest, Germany — our hearts full of memories and mountain magic.
