Saskatchewan is in the midst of a uranium boom.
Premier Scott Moe and the CEO of Cameco signed a deal earlier this week in India. Cameco will provide India with 22 million pounds of uranium to fuel its nuclear reactors over the next 9 years.
Meanwhile a new uranium mine just got the go-ahead to be built in northern Saskatchewan east of Cree Lake. And another underground uranium mine is in the process of getting approved to set up 150 kilometres north of La Loche.
Plus there are plans for a Small Modular Reactor Safety, Licensing, and Testing Centre at the University of Regina — the first of its kind in Western Canada
What will this mean for Saskatchewan through a political, economic and environmental lens?
