The "March of the Belgian Paratroopers" (original French title: Marche des Parachutistes Belges) is a renowned military march composed by Belgian composer and educator Pierre Leemans. It is the official march of the Belgian Paratroopers
Leemans wrote the march near the end of World War II, allegedly in a single evening after dining with a group of Belgian paratroopers (likely members of the 5th Special Air Service, as the official regiment wasn't formed until 1946).
Style: The composition is known for its moderate, easy-paced "European walking" style and tuneful melody. It is set in the form of a "patrol," designed to give the impression of a military band approaching from a distance, playing, and then passing by, beginning and ending softly.
