A leisurely paddle down Nogies Creek in the Kawartha Lakes area of Ontario, Canada. The journey ends on the waters of Pigeon Lake. It's a unique spot to have a cottage or year-round home. The creek is tight but is navigable up to where the video started at.
Beyond the starting point, the creek is dammed to create a great natural preserve and a great area for kayaks and canoes. This is all land under Kawartha Conservation. See our video taken upstream of the dam: • Canada Wilderness Kayaking: Kawartha's Sun... .
The cottages and homes that line the creek are not cheap. As of January 29, 2020, one 3,000 square foot house is listed at $600,000 CAD (MLS Real Estate listing).
This is a great base for anglers. The river can handle fairly large fishing boats and Pigeon Lake is just a short trip downstream. That lake is known for its Walleye, Muskie and Largemouth Bass.
The location is between the summer tourist towns of Bobcaygeon and Buckhorn, off highway 36.
