On March 4, 2021 -- as the #1 destination for invasive mussel-infested watercraft in B.C. -- the Okanagan Basin Water Board sent a letter to B.C.’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change, George Heyman, calling for legislation to help protect Okanagan waters, and waterways around B.C. One day later, the province was sounding the alarm as news broke of mussel-infested aquarium moss balls in several U.S. states began to spread.
When called by Global Okanagan about the letter, we suggested they follow up with the province about the moss balls. They did. And this is their follow-up story.
