“Sa… Sameer bh…bhai, y…you’re joking, right?” she stammered, hoping he would deny it, but he had always been a merciless man.
“Have I ever joked with you?” he said angrily, stepping closer. She shook her head, crying, and moved back — one more step and she’d fall.
“P…please forgive me, Sameer bhai. I’ll never wear a saree again, a…and I won’t go to the party with Zaman bhai ever again. Aahhh…” she cried, repeating her mistake as she stepped back, but her foot slipped. Before she could fall, he grabbed her hand.
