Controversy has arisen regarding the age of Arun Maurya, one of the three main accused in the public murder of Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf. Arun's age is being told differently at three places. Somewhere he is being told as a minor and somewhere his age is being told as 31 years. In view of this, the UP Police is now preparing to conduct a medical test to find out his exact age.

अतीक अहमद और उसके भाई अशरफ की सरेआम हत्या के तीन मुख्य आरोपियों में एक अरुण मौर्य की उम्र को लेकर विवाद खड़ा हो गया है. अरुण की उम्र तीन जगहों पर अलग-अलग बताई जा रही है. इनमें कहीं उसे नाबालिग बताया जा रहा है तो कहीं उसकी उम्र 31 साल बताई जा रही है. इसे देखते हुए यूपी पुलिस अब उसकी सही उम्र पता लगाने के लिए मेडिकल टेस्ट कराने की तैयारी कर रही है.
