The Knighthawks of VFA-136 and The Jolly Rogers of VFA-103 of Carrier Wing 7 embark on their 2026 deployment to Iraq. The carrier strike group steams through the Persian Gulf and receives orders for their first mission. Through intelligence assets CENTCOM has become aware of a planned drone strike coming over the border from Iran aimed at an oil refinery. Their mission is to intercept these Shahed drones, track and destroy any vehicles that were part of the launch, and suppress any SAM that goes active in the AO during their mission without violating Iranian airspace and causing an international incident.
The Knighthawks skipper “Boomer” leads Gunstar 1 flight while "Stubs" leads Gunstar 2. The Jolly Rogers skipper "Schmokey" leads Victory 1 and their XO "Hot Rod" leads Victory 2. This mission will require skill, but more importantly timing as they have a small window to intercept their targets before an oil refinery on the Iraq/Kuwait border braces itself for the attack. "Saint" and "Fefe" of VAW-121 provides ATC and AIC. Will they make it in time? Tune in to find out.
