Описание: In this episode, I sit down with Dara Read; lawyer, policy advisor, children’s book author, and adoptee, to talk about the power of storytelling in adoption and foster care.

Dara has worked across NSW and the Northern Territory as a lawyer for children and adults, and as a Senior Ministerial Advisor to the NSW Attorney General and Minister for Family and Community Services. She’s now working with the Department of Communities and Justice on Closing the Gap outcomes for Aboriginal people in the justice system.

Dara’s also the author of the beautiful children’s book We Love You Hundreds and Thousands, a joyful window into the life of Jasmine, a little girl who loves birthday parties and the special bond between a child and their foster or adoptive parents.

In this conversation, Dara shares her personal story of adoption, why representation in books and media matters, and how we can create more inclusive, honest conversations in our communities.
