This video demonstrates a practical and efficient method for removing a motorcycle disc brake caliper piston using only basic hand tools. The piston removal is performed without compressed air or specialized equipment.
It is uses a ratchet wrench.
a ratchet extension bar, and a single socket placed side by side inside the inner diameter of the brake piston. Once inserted, it is essential to ensure a tight and secure fit with little clearance. This proper engagement allows the ratchet extension to transmit rotational force directly to the piston.
By applying controlled counterclockwise rotation while simultaneously pulling the ratchet outward in a steady and gradual motion, the piston begins to rotate and is smoothly extracted from the caliper housing. This combined rotational and axial force reduces the risk of piston damage and provides better control during removal.
