Описание: The growing popularity of Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) has puzzled many, yet it has opened the door for artists and creators from Africa to sell their content to a global audience. Mayowa Alabi is one of such artists who has earned thousands of dollars through the sale of his artworks. In this talk, he shares the story of his journey as a digital artist, explaining how NFTs work and why they're important. Lagos-based multidisciplinary artist, Alabi Mayowa’s work is inspired by his childhood obsessions—African folklore and Afrofuturism. A graphic designer and photographer with over seven years of professional design experience, Mayowa previously worked as the Creative Lead at Co-Creation Hub Nigeria before taking on his current role as a visual artist for the BBC.
