In this video we visit the beautiful coastal village of Blakeney located in the county of Norfolk. Blakeney lies within the Norfolk Coast AONB and the North Norfolk Heritage Coast. The North Norfolk Coastal Path travels along its quayside
Blakeney was a commercial seaport until the early 20th century, until the harbour silted up and today only small boats are able to follow the creek out to the open sea.
In the 14th century pirates sailed from the village
Blakeney Point , a 4 mile spit of shingle and dunes is home to England’s largest seal colony, with more than 2,000 pups born every winter.
Blakeney is also popular with birdwatchers with regular visitors including ringed plovers, oystercatchers, common teal and Brent geese .
