The International Day for Biosphere Reserves (IDFBR) and the 2nd Albay Biosphere Reserve (ABR) Day were celebrated in Albay in November 2024, in line with UNESCO’s global observance every November 3. This milestone highlighted the role of the Albay Biosphere Reserve as a learning site for biodiversity conservation, youth engagement, and sustainable development.
The main ABR Day activities were held on November 18–19, 2024 at Ayala Malls Legazpi, featuring a photo contest and educational activities that showcased Albay’s rich natural heritage and the vital role of young people as future stewards of the biosphere. Through these celebrations, Albay reaffirmed its commitment to building a future where people and nature thrive together.
