A famous Scottish folk song about deer hunting, the beautiful views of Loch Maree and its islands in Wester Ross, North west Scotland. The song I believe originally wrote by a Leòdhasach (let me know if you know their name) but was made famous by the Button-box accordionist, Fergie MacDonald and vocal versions have been recorded by many artists over the years, notably Calum Kennedy. I heard the song at ceilidhs in the West coast, Highlands and Islands of Scotland and by the Gunna Sound Ceilidh Band but then more recently versions by Tidelines and Peat and Diesel.
