Evolution 20GX, I guess you can call it a break in run since I don’t know the history of it. Looks pretty new. Bought the plane used.
20:1 Stihl Ultra HP oil, 93 octane premium pump gas.
Xoar 15x6 prop.
Cylinder head temps stabilize around 285 degrees as long as I would richen it from peak about 500 rpm.
As you can see in the video, when you lean it to peak, it’ll climb up to almost 350. Back it down to idle and the temp drops right away.
Later in the run, it would only climb to about 320. Must be breaking in.
Later in the run, several times, I let it idle for at least 5 to 8 minutes. Transitioned fine to full every time.
IMO, they should have left more fins on the head to dissipate heat.
