Ukrainian Drone Strike in Tatarstan Region of Russia (Apr. 2024)

On April 2nd, 2024 at least one Ukrainian drone targeted and hit a building at the Alabuga SEZ (Special Economic Zone) in Yelabuzhsky District of the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia. There is conflicting information about the targeted building. Some media reports state it was related to the Taneco oil refinery, Ukrainian intelligence (who conducted the drone strike) stated it was a covert Geran-2 loitering munition assembly plant, and local authorities stated that the drone(s) hit a dormitory of the local Yelabuga Polytech college. According to Russian media only one drone was involved in the attack and resulted in 7 injured persons.
