AACE Foods was created by Ndidi & Mezuo Nwuneli, propelled by a passion and a sense of urgency rooted in the fact that over 90% of the processed food that is consumed in Nigeria is imported, even though 60% of the population is engaged in agriculture. Ndidi Nwuneli is the Managing Partner of Sahel Consulting and doubles as the founder of Leap Africa. She's an astute social entrepreneur of international repute. Ndidi holds an MBA from Havard Business School. She was recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and received a National Honour – Member of the Federal Republic from the Nigerian Government. Listed as one of the 20 Youngest Power African Women by Forbes.

The firm completed its first close of $33 million in 2014. Sahel has also provided advisory and consulting services to clients in Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana, and Liberia. It has also supported international agencies such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, USAID/ Africa LEAD, ECOWAS, DFID, Oxfam International, TechnoServe/ Humanity United, Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, IFDC,[27] and the Ford Foundation. AACE Foods' is focused on processing spices, complementary food and spreads sourced from smallholder farmers across Nigeria. AACE’s work in promoting nutrition, supporting smallholder farmers.
