This paper will present a process for non-technical subject matter experts to develop competence and confidence to build software for conducting research and solving problems peculiar to their respective fields.Subject matter experts in the human and social sciences often have unique research questions to unpack but often data collection and analysis for those questions seem too difficult, complex and time consuming for meaningful inquiry.Additionally, subject matter experts often lack the technical ability to develop software in order to bring computational power to their research processes because they lack skills in programming and software development. As such researchers have shied away from certain questions until now.With the technologies available today, specifically the ability to build software on no code platforms powered by AI technologies, it is now possible to gather and analyze data and answer questions in ways that were once thought impossible in the humanities and social science fields.With Graphical User Interfaces (GPUs) and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), with the availability of Large Language Models (LLMs), Big Data Queries and Analyses and with creative Prompt Engineering, it is possible today to apply computational power in answering humanities and social science questions effortlessly and efficiently with smart
software design.The session will walk you through the steps to consider in the process of building, requiring less time, money, and frustration in developing software with no code AI-powered tools and technologies.
