We Got Access to the Barnwell Tabby (Hilton Head, SC)

Описание: In this episode, I’m in Hilton Head exploring the historic Barnwell Tabby, a site that holds deep layers of Lowcountry history and craftsmanship. I was joined by a team of professional historians and anthropology professors who helped break down the early beginnings of tabby construction, who once lived on and around this property, and why sites like this matter in the ongoing fight for preservation.

During our walk-through, we discuss the unique materials and methods that made tabby such a staple in the coastal South, the preservation techniques being used today, and the future hopes for protecting the Barnwell Tabby for generations to come. You’ll also see a special cameo from the owner, Thomas Barnwell, who graciously gave his blessing for us to film and share this story with the world.
