Most investors spend more time choosing their next DoorDash order than they do researching stocks. That’s not just sarcasm—research shows the average investor spends just six minutes analyzing a stock before buying, and four of those are just staring at the price chart. It’s no wonder the average investor has underperformed the market by nearly 5% a year for the last two decades.
In this video, I’ll walk you through a simple 10-minute stock analysis process I developed after years as an equity analyst and earning the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. This is the same method I used to screen stocks in private wealth and venture capital—designed to be fast but powerful enough to spot high-return opportunities while avoiding hype traps.
We’ll cover:
• How to start with sector analysis to find industries with momentum
• The revenue growth trends that matter and how to benchmark them
• The profitability metrics that show real efficiency—especially operating margin
• Free cash flow and why it’s the purest indicator of financial health
• The ROIC ratio to uncover companies with true competitive advantages
• And how to tell if a stock is actually undervalued or just looks cheap
Using Nvidia (NVDA) as a real-world example, I’ll show you exactly where to find these numbers on public platforms like Yahoo Finance, how to calculate the key ratios, and how to compare them to competitors like AMD and Intel. You’ll learn why Nvidia commands a premium valuation—and whether it’s justified.
