From Zermatt to Chur, I rode the Glacier Express through the snowy Swiss Alps in winter. Departing from Zermatt as the early morning sun lit the Matterhorn, the train slowly traveled through the deep valley to the countryside. Then, the train climbed through the Oberalp Pass, the journey's highest point. It was a perfect winter wonderland with ski slopes along the railway! As the train descended into the valley, the snow disappeared. Finally, we passed through the beautiful Rhine Gorge, and after 6 hours, I arrived at my destination Chur. (How do you like my rewrite?) I met my friend and we drove to her village, Vuorz. With a population of 325, Vuorz Village is perched high on the mountainside. We had an evening stroll through the village at sunset.
