February 16, 2026 - BRONX, New York - Hundreds of youths were reported taking part in a “takeover” style disturbance at Bay Plaza Mall in the Bronx Monday afternoon, prompting a major NYPD response as officers faced thrown objects and reports of property damage.
The incident unfolded near 200 Baychester Ave, with dispatch traffic describing a large, disorderly crowd moving through the shopping center area and toward Co-op City. Police reported bottles and large chunks of ice being thrown at officers. A window was also reported broken at a McDonald’s near the mall.
