Описание: The black soldier fly "BSF" (Hermetia illuscens) has become a popular insect that is farmed for its value as a protein source for food and feed. In this video, hear how Dr. Laura Ingwell is exploring the use of this fly to create compost through diverting organic waste from the landfill. The process is limited by the winters in Indiana, but can be a valuable tool for recycling, food production, and building soil health. At the end you will be able to see how the flies break down food waste and compostable plates. See their work in action.
