Hummus is an incredibly popular Middle Eastern dip and spread.
It is typically made by blending chickpeas (garbanzo beans), tahini (ground sesame seeds), olive oil, lemon juice and garlic in a food processor.
Note: I have not added garlic. you mad add before blending.
Not only is hummus delicious, but it is also versatile, packed with nutrients and has been linked to many impressive health and nutritional benefits.
You may add the following for variations:
Beetroot (pink hummus)
Spinach (green hummus)
Soaked red chillies (spicy hummus)
Boiled carrots (orange hummus)
Roasted bell peppers (red, yellow, green)
Sweet potato (roasted or boiled)
You may serve hummus as:
• a dip with crisps, chips, nachos, vegetables
• sandwich spread
• in wraps and rolls
• salad dressing
•alternative to butter on a toast
Its great for kids tiffin too.
