In "FAQ: Permanent Bar - I've Served my 10 Years Outside the US: How Can I Come Back?", Immigration Attorney Heather L. Poole discusses what you must to do to return to the US after staying outside of the US for 10 years after triggering the permanent bar that has no I-601 waiver available. She discusses tips for filing the I-212 application for those subject to the "permanent" 10 year bar under INA 212(a)(9)(c). The 10 year bar is unwaivable bar that requires an immigrant to live outside of the US for ten years (and be able to prove it) if the immigrant has lived in the US illegally for more than a year and then left the US and illegally re-entered. If an immigrant has re-entered the US illegally after receiving a removal order from CBP or an immigration judge, then the permanent bar could also apply.
