On Nov. 2, 1947, an historic flight took place. It would last less than a minute.
“He surprised everybody and just shifted from taxiing and flying,” said Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum Chief Operating Officer Terry Howell.
Howard Hughes' amphibious wooden plane, the Spruce Goose, took flight over the Pacific.
Now it's on display in McMinnville, Oregon carefully nestled in the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum.
