🚫 Portuguese Man o’ War is not a jellyfish! It's comprised of a colony of genetically identical individuals called zooids with various forms and functions, all working together as one. The individual parts are responsible for a specific task, such as floating, capturing prey, feeding, and reproduction. It may not be a jellyfish, but the man-of-war does have one trait we commonly associate with jellyfish: painful stings. Even if they're not in the ocean, man-of-war can still sting you, so avoid them if they're washed up on the beach.
🌈 Towards the end of our beach day some clouds rolled in and we saw a stunning rainbow.
🎄 I loved seeing the Christmas tree that is decorated with seashells.
♨️ The park offers a variety of amenities including covered picnic areas, beach volleyball courts, basketball courts, showers, restrooms and more.
👍 There is ample free parking and this is one of our favorite beaches.
