Описание: Bengaluru is facing a severe commercial LPG cylinder crisis affecting restaurants across the city. The iconic Vidyarthi Bhavan, a pre-independence restaurant established in 1943 known for its masala dosas, has reduced operations from four tawas to two due to the gas shortage. Arun Adiga from Vidyarthi Bhavan explained that only 20 per cent of supply reached smaller hotels, while bigger establishments received no supply. He stated, 'We definitely believe it as a real crisis. Till we get a stock from our dealer, we believe it to be true.' Restaurants typically stock only one to two days of cylinders due to safety and legal restrictions. Vidyarthi Bhavan consumes around five cylinders daily and has stock only for today, potentially extending to tomorrow afternoon with restrictions. The Hotel Association has sent messages to the Central Petroleum Ministry seeking intervention. Adiga warned of a ripple effect across industries dependent on restaurant procurement, including dairy and vegetable suppliers, and noted that over 60 per cent of Bengaluru residents depend on outside food.
