CHADD's Public Policy Committee Lunch & Learn Series: The Importance of Adult ADHD Guidelines

Описание: Dr. Peter Jensen is the founder of The Reach Institute and director of a coalition of organizations developing adult ADHD diagnosis and treatment guidelines for use in the United States, a joint effort of CHADD and American Professional Society for ADHD and Related Disorders Association. He will discuss the apparent increase in adults diagnosed with ADHD and the need for established guidelines to evaluate, diagnose, and treat adults for ADHD.

CHADD is addressing the needs of specific medical providers and specialty organizations to have reliable, standard guidelines for adult ADHD through its DaTAA (Diagnosis and Treatment of Adult ADHD) Project committee. Working with APSARD, this committee will adapt the guidelines to the needs of different medical and mental health specialists and patient populations. This process includes focus groups with different medical and mental health specialists that will provide information about the needed tools to facilitate accurate diagnosis and effective treatments for their patients.
