Nearby landslides and years of exploatation, especially with heavy vehicles which weren't meant to drive on these roads slowly but surely damaged terrain and asphalt. You can see ordinary RWD and FWD vehicles or 4x2 trucks get stuck in potholes, and other more capable 4x4, 6x6 trucks or AWD vehicles drive over easily. Those stuck cars will need rescue, and its most likely by pulling them out with another truck connected with chain.
